Athena (Arcade Ver.): Stage 7: World of Labyrinth
2Hmmmm... The colors of this level reminds me of Sonic 1's own Labyrinth...
Similar to the Stage 6: World of Hell, you can't let yourself get to low through this fortress. If you do, you'll fall into a pit that makes you start the whole stage over.
Not all of the yellow detailed blocks you find here are breakable. Sometimes, you just have to check around to find some that are.

Mercifully, there is no boss in this level. Instead, Athena meets a goddess. She will bestow upon her an all-important item known as the Harp of Protection. Not only does this work like a permanent K Slate, where Athena will keep any gear she had by the time she dies and respawn, but you need it in order to defeat Emperor Dante in the next stage, the final stage.
Actually, you could've into World of Labyrinth much earlier, if you found the Key somewhere hidden in Stage 4: World of Sky, instead of the end of Stage 6: World of Hell.
Finishing Stage 4 with that Key would've taken you to Stage 7 here, already. You beat this level and get the Harp, but then when you exit, you'll be taken to Stage 5 to continue through the game. If you completed Stage 6 from there, you would've automatically gotten taken to Stage 8: The Last World, because there's no need to go through Stage 7, twice!
So now, time to go through The Last World, already! The end of Athena's adventure is near!
