"The Only Process" by Atmos came out in 1999 on TIP Records classic compilation "Halluci-Nations" and on 12" vinyl on Acid Casualties. In the 2 years surrounding the millennium it was probably played on 90% of psytrance parties on the planet. The hypnotic massive non stop progressive beats saturated with the alien crunchy sounds and eerie dark atmosphere turned it into a massive hit that people just didn't get tired of. Add to it the sample which no one really understood and each had his/her own interpretation of, and you have a classic that no other track ever managed to sound like (and many tried). The sample, btw, is taken from a tutorial to some program Atmos used and says: "The Only Process - Vitalizer".
Now Captain Hook has remixed this classic and it is released on Atmos' own label Atmotech. He said about remixing it:
"Remixing the only process was a challenging, teaching, maturing & adventuring process!
I remember walking around it like a cat for a while, searching the best way to dive in, finally what gave me the vibe was Tomasz, by saying "just do your thing bro".
Ive decided to open the beast and handle it with much respect. It took me more than 6 months to complete the writing and composition of the track and another few to find the right sources and elements, the final mix and sound design was done with Ido Ophir (Domestic) who mastered the track as well, The cover artwork by Ayelet Ish.
At the last mixing session we chose to give the track more old-school psy trance authentic approach, the result speaks for itself, 10:31 minutes no breaks of deep, hypnotic & psychedelic trance. I hope you will enjoy the trip as much as i enjoyed creating it, one love!"
