Welcome to The Couch Knights' let's play of the brighter side of Spryo's career. You know, before he naively stumbled into the offices of Nintendo and got a sledgehammer makeover. Spyro the Dragon is an an adventure platformer developed by Insomniac games. The story follows a small purple dragon named Spyro and his Dragonfly friend Sparx as they rescue all of the dragons that have been turned into statues by the evil Gnasty Gnorc. In addition to that, Gnasty also stole all the dragon treasure and turned it into an infestation of unpleasant enemies. Spyro the Dragon features careful platforming segments, gliding mechanics, and a rather intuitive combat system (for the time that is). And little Sparx over there isn't just tagging along for fun, he indicates how many more hits Spyro can take (so obviously he wasn't there on the trip to nintendo). With powerups, boss enemies, and a variety of homeworlds, Spyro the Dragon firmly places itself as a Playstation classic.
And for those of you who managed to catch this one prior to it being properly titled, congratulations! You get a cookie. But you have to buy it yourself so, I'm less giving you a cookie so much as giving you permission to enjoy a cookie today.
