Attempt to find performance issues with a map - 30fps on a 4080 - 10850k 32 gig ddr4 3600 on an M2
Not to waste anyone's time, read first....
Do you know what this really is more like... Its like that place you take your car for trouble shooting a problem where you pay like 100.00 for a "10 point" inspection where the guy goes through the regular stuff you can check too, and comes back with a list of things it might be.
If you watch this know its an attempt. Don't watch with expectations of being able to fix your own levels because this likely will not get you there but 50% of the way. Or less. It was not flawless, and left scratching my own head some.
I checked the things I thought it could be and looked into a few things. The main thing I feel are the total assets in the directory. There are assets from many levels. 2,000 on standby was not even being used. Just there to have when needed. Its generally not a good idea to have any extra models not being used. Since game takes into account it has to keep up with everything. 10,000 assets is a lot to load. Even though not on the map, Hiding everything only brought a little more performance. There was many errors related to those assets too. Missing textures, missing models..
Until I went to that sceentree and just started deleting it all did the frame rate go from 30s back to over 100s
