Attempting to upgrade my Dad's Gateway MD7309u Laptop - Unboxing new parts :D 07-07-25
My dad is STILL using an ancient Laptop he got Aaaaaages ago (I think in 2009) on a Black Friday sale. lol
At this point he was just about to give up on his beloved Laptop; Finally deciding it's getting too slow to use these days...
But I was, like, have you tried an SSD?
An SSD can really have a huge impact on old computers.
And he was, like... Huh? lol
So he's never had an SSD, and I figured $50 would be worth it to find out if these old laptops (He actually has two of them) can still cut it, if you speed up the drive.
Although, when I said lets try it! :D
I didn't realize these apparently have a maximum of 4 gigs of ram... (Yikes!)
I'm not sure if this one is even maxed out, which could be a problem, because I'm pretty sure the USB installer I prepared, to use to install windows on it, is 64bit, and 4 gigs is kinda tight on 4 gigs (eek!)
Actually not quite as confident windows 10 will install on this without help either, as I was when I set up the usb installer...
Guess we'll seeeeee! :O
;D
