Prepare to swap Scranton for the Sydney suburbs. Prime Video is bringing the iconic workplace comedy, The Office, to Australia, and it’s promising a laugh-out-loud reimagining of the beloved series.
Set to premiere on October 18th, the eight-episode Australian adaptation introduces us to Hannah Howard, a groundbreaking female boss played by the comedic powerhouse Felicity Ward. As the managing director of Flinley Craddick packaging company, Hannah finds herself in a precarious position when corporate mandates a branch closure and remote work for her entire team. Determined to keep her "work family" intact, she embarks on a series of increasingly absurd schemes, much to the amusement (and occasional exasperation) of her staff.
Joining Ward in this comedic ensemble is a talented cast including Edith Poor, Steen Raskopoulos, Shari Sebbens, Josh Thomson, Jonny Brugh, Susan Ling Young, Raj Labade, Lucy Schmidt, Zoe Terakes, Pallavi Sharda, and Claude Jabbour. Guest stars Susie Youssef, Justin Rosniiak, Carlo Ritchie, Rick Donald, and Chris Bunton add further flavor to the mix.
Hailing from BBC Studios Australia & New Zealand, Bunya Entertainment, and Amazon MGM Studios, the series was developed by Julie De Fina and Jackie van Beek, who also serve as executive producers alongside Kylie Washington. This marks the 13th adaptation of the globally successful format, following in the footsteps of the original UK series starring Ricky Gervais and the iconic US version led by Steve Carell.
