So many conversations around socials lately about people being authentic and genuine or not as vtubers and honestly I have some thoughts and had to rant about it. Sure not every one is going to be their authentic self as a vtuber, but if you think people who face cam, or even people you meet face to face are always their most authentic self you really aren't paying attention to humanity in general. We all show aspects of ourselves in different situations, and of them can be authentic but at the same time we hold some things back because our private selves is different than our public selves.

Vtubing and streaming is much the same, we're not going to bare our whole souls to strangers on the internet, we're going to be a safe version of ourselves that we feel comfortable sharing. Being on camera, or being behind a vtuber model isn't going to change that for many of us.
