The addition of Flak ammunition enables the autocannon to have a larger explosive AoE as well as AP3 shrapnel, handling hordes of enemies very nicely. APHET ammunition is still important for single-target AP4 and durable damage, but can be matched in most other circumstances. APHET stands for Armor Piercing High Explosive Tracer.
