The Legend of the Four Nations is a tabletop RPG campaign, akin to Dungeons and Dragons, but using the Avatar Legends ruleset. It will run across five books (seasons), each set in a different era of the Avatar universe, starting with the era of Avatar Kyoshi, set after the novels Rise of Kyoshi and Shadow of Kyoshi.

This is a prologue to our campaign, and you will be able to find the rest of the episodes as they come out here on our channel.

The basic mechanic of the campaign is that when the characters wish to do anything, they have to roll two six-sided dice. 6 and below is a miss, 7-9 is a weak hit, 10+ is a strong hit. Depending on what they want to do, the rolls have different outcomes, and each character will have modifiers, both temporary and permanent, that will affect their dice rolls.

In the overlay, underneath each character, you will see visual elements. From top to bottom these are: a fatigue track, a list of conditions, and their balance.

Various things in the game will alter the players' fatigue, or mark conditions for them. If a player has a filled fatigue track, they no longer can perform actions that must cause them to gain fatigue. If a player's fatigue track and conditions are all filled, they are temporally taken out.

Each player has a balance track with two opposing principles. As they play, actions they take or that are taken upon them will shift their balance in various directions. If their balance is shifted more than +3 in either direction, they must reset their center +1 in that principle's direction. If their center is shifted more than +3, their character is permanently out of the game.

The tail end of the opening theme uses a portion of this track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N9SS6L0TDU&pp=ygUXYXZhdGFyIGVwaWMgaW50cm8gdGhlbWU%3D
