avrdude ser open can't open device COM4 The system cannot find the file specified
Are you getting the "avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device COM4 β The system cannot find the file specified" error while uploading code to your Arduino? π€ This usually happens when the USB port changes, and the COM port gets reassigned.
π In this video, I'll show you how to:
β οΈ Check and select the correct COM port
β οΈ Choose the right Arduino board
β οΈ Fix the upload issue in just a few steps
π‘ Why does this error happen?
Windows assigns a new COM number when you plug your Arduino into a different USB port. If you donβt update it in Arduino IDE, it tries to upload to the old port, causing this error.
π₯ Steps to fix it:
1οΈ β£ Open Arduino IDE
2οΈ β£ Go to Tools Port and select the correct port
3οΈ β£ Go to Tools Board and choose your Arduino model
4οΈ β£ Click Upload and your code should work!
π Now your Arduino is ready to go!
