In 2016, I began fascination with import Nintendo consoles. I had bought some Famicom games after buying a Hyperkin Retron 5 in January 2015, but I wanted real hardware. I also really wanted a Famicom disc system, but the original Famicom doesn't support A/V out. That lead me down the trail where I found the guys at Famicom Dojo. They opened my eyes to the AV Famicom, the Sharp Famicom Twin, and the Twin Turbo. Thanks to them, I was able to learn what system I truly wanted, and invested in my Twin Turbo I still own today.

Kevin, aka Vinnk, actually lives in Japan and runs an online store selling Japanese retro games through his store, Japan Retro Direct. Following him on Twitter, he posted several items for sale in August 2020 I knew I had to buy, and the prices were terrific. Since the last order I placed with him, he has found a faster method for shipping. Where my original order took about 2 months, this order arrived in 8 days! After my recent negative experiences with Otaku Games, whom I will never use again, Vinnk did a great job and took impeccable care packaging the boxes to ensure they wouldn't be damaged in transit.

I cannot overstate how pleased with my purchase I am, the games were in terrific shape, the boxes were what I expected, and those manuals are so fun. I love the fact that Japan Retro Direct provides a great selection of games for a variety of systems at a terrific value. All of these games were pre-tested and cleaned to verify they were in good, working order and I do appreciate Vinnk creating his own save states on the Famicom Disk System Games of Metroid & Zelda.

Overall, I'm glad I picked these up from Vinnk and, regrettably, I know he's going to get much more money from me in the future.
