Oculus Quest (Through SideQuest)

This is a really fun horde wave shooter set in medieval times that has you battling Orcs, skeletons, spiders and many other mythical beasts.

You start the game with just your axe, this you can use either as a melee weapon or for throwing. As you enter the first dungeon you will see two entrances which will be the enemies attacking approach from. There are also a couple of mounted crossbows, these automatically target and shoot arrows at the enemy.

The wave patterns are fairly simple, the enemy approaches from both the entrances at the same time, you armed with your axe can run in and pick off those that get throw your crossbow defences. Complete the wave and you will be rewarded with three chests, each with a different reward choice from a trap or a weapon. Traps include other mounted crossbows, sumo type defenders, fire and freezing squares, all of these can be strategically placed in a bid to stop the oncoming enemies, as you progress the enemies get stronger and faster, so finding the right combination of traps to slow them down is vital.

With each successful wave defeated you will collect credits which you can use in the tavern hub to buy more traps or upgrade your weapons.

Visually the game designer has chosen to use cartoon / Minecraft type visuals which really suite the game, the enemies are colourful and animated including melee or throwing attacks.

Controlling the game is really smooth, this is full locomotion, but with incremental turning and the game tracks the controllers well. Weapons such as the bow feeling satisfying, reacting correctly to the tension and direction you re firing,

This is game well suited to VR and will provide plenty of challenge as you progress through the levels, unlocking upgrades.
