Ayakashi Gohan - Stream 6 (Date☆Night: 10/17/17)
12My friend DeviousVacuum and I, in a quest to discover more about visual novels, have put together a stream called Date☆Night, where we're playing through a bunch of visual novels that I haven't had the chance to really sink my teeth into, and that DVac has never seen. Our current game is Ayakashi Gohan, a heartwarming little tale about family and the connection between human and ayakashi (spirits). We follow Akane Rin, a young girl living in a small town where humans and ayakashi live together. As she lives her normal life, going to school and working at a cafe, she may find romance with the people of this peculiar town...
Both DVac and I are going into this blind! The fan translation was released earlier this year so we haven't had a lot of time to look at it beforehand, but we're optimistic about it!
Today, we continue our playthrough with sad Rin! We get more of a feel for her character and the way she sees the world, and get a deeply personal and powerful story on death, self-understanding, and hard-to-reconcile emotions. We also meet a big ol' spider and learn that Uta is easily the better of the twins.
