Azur Poly Bronco OV-10 near Mishap due to activation of other items behind the EFB. Flight Simulator
AIRCRAFT:
OV-10 Bronco by AzurPoly.
This is an EXCELLENT aircraft; the level of details is fantastic.
This video is to show a bug with the EFB (Electronic Flight Bag).
Although it is a small bug, it can have grave consequences!
The EFB is like an iPad that allows to control different functionalities of the aircraft.
Unfortunately, activation of other items behind the EFB is possible!
In this case, I had moved the EFB on the lower right side. As I wanted to turn off the Gunsight, I used the EFB to do it. But, but doing so, it inadvertently set the LEFT ENGINE EMERGENCY SHUTOFF VALVE to off! We can briefly see this at 9:26.
As this was not a conscious action, I didn't expect the left engine to go off.
I didn't see at the time that the LEFT ENGINE EMERGENCY SHUTOFF VALVE was off, as we can see from 10:16!
As I didn't know what happened, thinking it was a bug of some sort, I decided to go land the aircraft. I thought it was an opportunity to go back gliding, so I turned off the right engine, to see how this aircraft glides.
I had just enough height and speed to go back and land onto runway 27; watch from 10:40 for the approach and landing.
A mishap is also an opportunity to try something unplanned.
The OV-10 Bronco by AzurPoly is now available on Microsoft Marketplace, Contrail, Orbx and SimMarket.
SCENERY:
Panarea Fly - LIM4
This is a Project by Nunzio Caltabiano (Voyager Sim Project)
[Voyager Sim Project] Panarea Fly (LIM4)
This is a scenery in progress. As more elements are added to the scenery, I am still testing that the runways and concrete walls are stable, unlike the default cliffs that "jump".
The top area of both runways had their curves smoothened.
Taking off from the shorter runway, and landing on the longer runway with engines off.
The runways AND CONCRETE WALLS are good and stable, but the cliffs morphing is a problem as we approach / leave the area (as the simulator loads / unloads Terrain Elevation points). This may need a lot of extra rocks put around the cliffs, not too close to the cliffs, to avoid the extra rocks jump too, and runways may have to be modified too.
Otherwise, the work itself by Nunzio is very good! Shame the cliffs jump in Flight Simulator by default, even with Terrain LOD set at 400, the Maximum. However, in this video, it is set at 200, as when the Terrain LOD is set at the Maximum, FPS are lowered and we get more stutters.
Or maybe, could all the cliffs of the surrounding area be redesigned in the same way the runways and the aprons are?
