Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 (PC) – Lightning-Fast Action with Style for Days 🌩 ️ 🎮

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 is everything you want from a modern 2D action-platformer: blazing speed, flashy style, and tight mechanics. Developed by Inti Creates, this game is the sequel to the original Gunvolt, and on PC it feels polished and content-rich — a satisfying follow-up that knows what fans loved in the first game and builds on it without losing its identity.

🎮 What Works

Two Campaigns with Different Flavors: You can play through as Gunvolt or as Copen, each offering subtly different abilities and stage designs. Both are fun, but Copen tends to feel more aggressive and mobile, while Gunvolt trades speed and mobility for some interesting defensive quirks and flashy effects.

Stylish Combat & Scoring: The combat system revolves around chaining attacks, avoiding damage, and using a “tracer” / “flashfield” combo mechanic that rewards finesse. You can’t just blast through; there’s incentive to master dodges, spacing, and gear upgrades to maximize your score.

Visuals & Sound: Beautiful pixel art, detailed sprite work, and modern polish make every explosion and special effect feel vibrant. The soundtrack pulses with energy, and the visual design leans heavily into cyberpunk / anime style that’s catchy and memorable.

Replay Value: Between the two story paths, optional challenges, speedrun modes, and the quest for higher rankings, there’s a lot to go back for. Even when you finish both stories, you’ll find reasons to replay levels aiming for better performance, better gear, or just pure fun.

⚠ ️ What’s Less Strong

Length: It’s not a hugely long game. A single playthrough doesn’t take massive chunks of time. If you’re a seasoned action player, you’ll probably clear both campaigns in a modest number of hours.

Difficulty Balance: There are spikes — certain bosses or levels demand precise movement and mastery, especially if you turn off some of the assistive mechanics. Copen’s campaign may feel easier in many cases, depending on playstyle, which can make things feel uneven.

Story Interruptions: The dialogue and cutscenes are fine, but they sometimes break the flow, especially in the heat of action. If you care more about pure gameplay, these interruptions can feel like speed bumps.

✅ Final Verdict

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 on PC is a strong action-platformer that strikes a great balance between old-school challenge and modern polish. If you like Mega Man Zero, Shovel Knight, or any game where perfecting your run and chaining combos matters, this one delivers. Not perfect, but very satisfying.

If you want lightning-quick reflexes, stylish visuals, and replayable gameplay that rewards skill, this is absolutely one to pick up.

💬 Did you prefer playing as Gunvolt or Copen? Which level or boss gave you the biggest challenge?
