Azurexia is a short E1M2 replacement. It features mostly big rooms with typical episode 1 monsters plus cacodemons.

It feels like a 90's wad. It has some good atmospheric ideas like that room with the lit platforms in the darkness. In general, it has some good use of lighting. But the odd texture choices (mixing green and brown textures) and the texture misalignment bothered me.

Level design tried to not be linear and that's good. But the computer map secret was kinda easy as the door was quite close to the switch and that made the navigation of the map way too easy.

Difficulty-wise it doesn't have much to offer imo. There's some good use of barrels, but most fights weren't challenging as you could snipe the enemies with ease using the shotgun. Cacodemons were kinda tedious to kill as it was easy to dodge most of their projectiles on the big platforms. Not sure if lucky in my route choice but an early hallway gave me tons of ammo.

A short average map, quite enjoyable, with lots of room for enhancements and polish
