1A volcano is a mountain that has a hole in the top where hot magma ( Molten Rock ) can come out from deep inside the Earth.
Volcanoes erupt Because there is hot magma ( Molten Rock ) deep inside the Earth that want to come out. this magma rises to the surface through a volcano vent or opening . when it get close to the surface. the pressure build up and eventually the magma and other materials like ash , gas and rocks shoot out of the volcano. this is called an eruption. sometimes volcanoes can erupt with a big explosion and sometimes they can have smaller eruptions that just released a little bit of material.
volcanoes can be dangerous because the material that come out of them can cause Fire , landslides and other disaster. however volcanoes can also create new land and help to make soil more fertile. so while they can be scary , they are also a natural part of our planet geology.
