This is only a single piece that forms part of the monumental pillar of music that's called "The Well-Tempered Clavier".
Consisting of two books, each with 24 Preludes and Fugues in all major and minor keys, it encompasses a wide variety of moods and, as it goes without saying, showcases Bach's supreme and seemingly endless talent in writing contrapuntal music.
As such, it has been righteously called the "Old Testament of keyboard music".
