The process is slow and meticulous...but in the end, it is better to be sure that you have found all the good chips...and yes, all the bad ones...
There are so many RAM chips in an old PET...18 as it happens...and undoubtedly, there will be some that are bad...without fail...but you can check them all in the screen RAM sockets...time to check out the Blue Bezel machine chips...double check the witness mark, and the condition of the pins...and yes, you might need reading glasses to see what is what...some of the writing on the chips is very hard to see...some almost gone...so if you do not know what a chip is based on where you remove it from, you might have a very difficult time ever figuring it out...
