Continuing onto chapter 2 now. The bosses are probably the highlight of the game just for their interesting designs and catchy music. Wished they last longer than they usually go on for due to how easy they are. But there are a few tricky ones.
Never played Sonic Adventure 1 or 2, so I never experienced the Chao Garden. That being said though, I do find the Isle of Tims to be a nice distraction, even if its not exactly the same.
