Banjo-Kazooie (N64) 100% Playthrough - 7. Mad Monster Mansion
Decided to finally record some gameplay, after so long. An important distinction this time around, is that this video is not a Let's Play, but rather a Playthrough; no commentary, only gameplay and audio (and the occasional meme thrown in for good measure). I kinda wanted to make a video that focuses mostly on being more of a guide type thing. Not only to test my new setup and capture card (both of which seem to work pretty well from what I can tell); so I hope to do more very soon. This run is also segmented, but that shouldn't make a difference, since I'm not passing this off as a speedrun or anything like that. Each recording sessions, I did 2 stages (Mumbo's Mountain+Treasure Trove Cove, etc) and would then Save and Quit.
What can I say about Banjo-Kazooie that hasn't been said a Million times already? It made perfect sense to do this one, because Banjo-Kazooie is just a generally beloved game; it also helps that I had a lot of nostalgia for it, having played it for years. From a design aesthetic, and the concept (this is literally Grunty's old family home), Mad Monster Mansion oozes charm and style, and to compliment Freezeezy Peak's emphasis on Christmas, Mad Monster Mansion is very Halloween themed. One of my favorite levels concept wise; the multi room setup can cause headaches; especially if you don't take note of all the tiny crevices in the walls. This episode also features my first actual in-game death of the run; no planning or intended strats for that one; I just slipped.
All the gameplay was recorded on my original N64 and Cartridge, and the gameplay/audio was recorded using the Razer Ripsaw HD Capture Card; and OBS Studio.
