Barioth, Monster Hunter World | Made in Spore!
Ahh here's good ol' Barioth. Before I played Monster Hunter, this has always been one of my favourite designed monsters; some big scary mofo sabertooth dragoncat. Seeing it in-game for the first time was epic - and it really pointed out to me how much I needed to remake this, as my previous Barioth creation is just hilarious in comparison.
I did have a tough time on the face - I first tried a closed-mouth expression and it just looked incredibly derpy. Next I tried an open-mouth since that really seems to show off the ferocity more, and while it does look better than the first attempt, I will agree it looks strange with its mouth being constantly open. Gotta love Spore, eh? Still, I think this is a huge improvement and I am really happy with how this came out! I might draw it in ZBrush some time.
