A while back I reviewed Batman Returns on the Sega CD. But what about the cartridge version that came before it?

Episode Notes:

1. Captured on the Mega SG.

2. The Game Gear/Master System got a Batman Returns that was developed by Sega themselves. It's arguably a better game.

3. The end boss is a real pain. Back in the day, it drove me to fury trying to beat him. I would destroy his life bar only to see him keep fighting. I ended up realizing that there was an out-of-the-way trick to beating him. It was a cheap and shallow tactic to make an easy fight difficult.

4. The hit detection really is terrible. I could make a whole video full of damage frames resulting from being hit well outside the sprite.

5. It'll only takes a few days to beat this even for average players. It has a reputation for being difficult, but it's only hard because it tries your patience with its BS design issues.
