Battery desulfator science part 1 - Introduction
0In this video, I present an experiment intended to produce solid and repeatable results on the topic of battery desulfation, using a self-designed desulfator, a data-logging constant current sink, and a test group of 14 identical, dead batteries.
The test will subject 7 of the batteries to the desulfation device, and another 7 to a more traditional revival method - overvoltage charging. According to set criteria, the batteries will be "desulfated" using both methods, and then tested for capacity in a repeatable and accurate manner, hopefully creating some clear trends in the process.
This introductory video goes through the test set-up and basic methodology, some common battery charging schemes, and shows the progression of one of the batteries in the first group until testing.
Any comments and ideas for how to make this test better are welcome. The test is going to be on-going for a few weeks, starting about one week prior to the publication of this video.
