Rise of Immortals: Battle for Graxia was a free-to-play MOBA game released by Petroglyph Games on Aptril 26th, 2013. Just 2 months later, on June 27th, the game was shut down. This video is meant to be a simple record of one of the game's heroes and their kit.

Undine Overview:

Undine, the Fury of the Deep, has risen from the depths of Graxia's last ocean to unleash her might in the tournament arena. A powerful long range mage who excels at poking Immortals from a distance and demolishing targets with her high burst proficiency, Undine utilizes a combination of skill shots and area effect abilities to manipulate the flow of battle and crush her enemies.

Undine's Lore:

Timeless as the sea, Undine has been a part of this world since the first waves broke upon Graxia's shores. For eons Undine's blissful existence remained far removed from the toils and troubles of mortals. Then one day Undine caught sight of something most curious--a group of mortals swimming freely along the shore. Undine watched them in their merriment and came to wonder: if those that dwelled above could visit her realm, then why should she not visit theirs in return?

Curiosity become determination and for the first time, Undine left the ocean and walked upon the world above. Transformed into the guise of those humans she had seen in her realm, Undine walked freely in this strange new world to her immense delight. There, she encountered something she did not expect: a mortal prince fair of form and kind of heart. She felt drawn to him as the tides are drawn to the moon--Undine had fallen in love.

When the prince asked for her hand in marriage, Undine agreed but only on the condition that during the full and new moons, he would allow her to leave his domain freely and alone, and that he would never ask her why. So great was his love for her that the prince agreed and soon after, they were wed. After many years together, he could no longer deny his curiosity and he secretly followed Undine to the shore where he beheld her true form and nature. Horrified by the truth, the prince cast Undine from his house, his kingdom, and his heart.

Enraged and heartbroken by the prince's betrayal, Undine cursed the once handsome prince, turning him into a monstrous creature that would forever live between the land and the sea. She returned to the depths where her sorrow and fury were unleashed as treacherous tides, raging storms, and violent currents in Graxia's once peaceful seas.

Having vowed to never again have anything to do with the mortal world above, Undine confined herself to the aquatic realm until the Great Silence threatened her very existence. With but one ocean left in all of Graxia, Undine has no choice but to join the tournament to fight for her survival.

Battle for Graxia:

This short lived (if counting from official release date) MOBA had some fun gameplay, a friendly but small community, and some unique features - such as the White Knight Queue for replacing leavers, single-use-per-game hero Signature abilities, and the ability to heal up towers once with a consumable item. Although I didn't play the game a whole lot, I did enjoy the time I spent with it quite a bit. I decided there should be some record of some of the heroes - so I decided to make this. I recorded short games of each of the female heroes the day the game was to shut down, unfortunately I didn't have time to do more than that but I may put together videos for them using images or other video not from myself. These videos are simply intended to show the hero's kit and base appearance, along with a bit of their gameplay (though that's mostly just there so I could level up and use the skills). These were all recorded in 1vE mode on the day of the shutdown.

Rise of Immortals:

Originally released as a more unique take on the MOBA genre, Rise of Immortals combined MOBA gameplay with persistent character progression elements and a social lobby area instead of a typical menu client. After being out for over a year, Battle for Graxia replaced it, moving the game to a more traditional MOBA style - removing most of the persistent progression elements and the social lobby, and also changing the 5v5 map.

This hero record is dedicated to the friendly players who spent far more time in Graxia than I did. While this isn't comparable really to an MMORPG shutting down, I love MOBA's and hate to see any game close. Petroglyph has said the game may return one day, and I hope it does.
