Electronic Arts and developer DICE have launched a fresh update for Battlefield 2042 across all platforms. The ongoing Season 5 of the renowned Battlefield series is currently underway, while Season 6 is scheduled to commence later this autumn.
While the full extent of Season 6's contributions to Battlefield 2042 remains a mystery, a new update has been introduced, featuring a series of minor refinements.
Presently, players can access update version 5.2.1 for Battlefield 2042. In contrast to previous extensive patches for the multiplayer shooter, this latest update focuses on relatively modest enhancements aimed at improving the overall gameplay experience.
DICE has revamped several gameplay elements and resolved issues concerning AI soldiers' behaviors within the game. Furthermore, this patch incorporates a fix for Hazard Zone.
Looking ahead, DICE has revealed plans for Battlefield 2042: Redux, set to commence towards the conclusion of August.
This upcoming event will provide players with an opportunity to re-immerse themselves in the game and receive weekly rewards. Among these rewards will be weapon, vehicle, and character skins.
Alongside these enticing rewards, DICE intends to introduce notable changes to certain game modes and maps in BF2042, offering players a fresh perspective on the gameplay.
Changes:
- AI soldiers will no longer mindlessly engage in continuous firing at the Irish Fortification System; after all, they possess intelligence, correct?
- Rectified a problem where the Underbarrel Smoke Grenade dissipated too rapidly under specific weather conditions.
- Enhanced situations that led to players sustaining explosive damage through walls.
- Eliminated an exploit that permitted players to keep downed comrades in an ongoing "Being Revived" state.
- Decreased Dozer's Shield Bash Range by 16%.
- Mitigated the Horizontal Recoil Pull on the K30.
- Addressed an occurrence where a downed Specialist would rise during the revival process.
