Looks like the last patch to the PC version of the game enabled the tower to self destruct when one of the teams hits 20 tickets. Here's my close up view of the tower when it collapse. (PS3 version got this feature enabled awhile back)

This is shown twice in this video. First half was recorded with game settings for mesh/effects set to high (everything else set to low or I would lag too much) and second half shows what happens if you're too close to the tower when it hits the ground. (most graphics set to low except textures which were at medium)

Note the main difference from the tower collapse in campaign mode is that most of the bottom part of the tower is destroyed in multiplayer leaving only a small stub where the door way remains.

However I've seen from videos of the Campaign mode where a good portion of the bottom half remains intact after destruction. I would say the first 100-150 FT of the tower remain standing after the collapse in campaign mode. So there is indeed a difference in the destruction from that of multiplayer.

(yes I know I used the wrong version of "you're" in the captions for the second half of the video. I didn't feel like redoing the video editing to fix it.... :P )
