Battlefield Heroes'42: Dynamic Buoy Lights
Not a true dynamic light, but via the magic of animated BIK textures, I can emulate a flashing/flickering/moving light in the lightmap file by doing some magic with 3DSMax and some UVMap swapping.
The lightmap channel was moved to chl1 and the color map channel moved to chl3. So the lightmap is the main texture and the main texture is using the BIK video.
BF1942 can't load BIK videos that are packed in RFAs, thus the reason for the UVMap swap. :D
In this video I have the buoy lights flashing on and off. Please note that the ambient color of the lightmaps may change as I plan on using different lighting settings once I get a hold of the terrain textures for the day version of this map.
Now that I think about it, even BF2/BFH does not support having it's dynamic lights flash in this way. There is a flicker code for the dynamic object class but it doesn't behave like this. And as you know, BF2/BFH currently can't load BIK textures like BF1942 can. :D
