EA had a class-action lawsuit filed against them last year, which alleged that during the period of July 24 to December 3rd, EA issued “materially false and misleading statements” about Battlefield 4, specifically regarding its quality. –Like, maybe they said it would function correctly on launch, ‘cause that was a blatant lie.-

However, a US federal judge has ruled that the pre-release comments about Battlefield 4 were actually just “corporate optimism” or “puffery”. –What the hell is puffery? Is that something I can buy at a bakery? I’d still choose that over Battlefield 4 on launch, heyooooo-. The judge also denied the contention that EA acted intentionally or deliberately reckless regarding pre-release Battlefield 4, saying:

“The complaint fails to adequately allege falsity and scienter for reasons articulated by defendants.”

Of course, the case isn’t over just yet, but at least Battlefield 4 got a huge update earlier this month and EA seem to be paying more attention to supporting it.
