This is an issue I've been talking about for several years now, and I've seen grow from being a minor irritation to something that might potentially threaten game sales in a big way. Mech Engineer is an example of a game that has really carefully thought out UI that perfectly complements the gameplay to engage the player from the start, to the finish. I want to see more games that do this, rather than the lazy crap we have to put up with in modern 4X these days.
