1Bayonetta 2 (ベヨネッタ2) is a 2014 action game developed by PlatinumGames and published by Nintendo exclusively for Wii U and Nintendo Switch. The sequel to the first game, Bayonetta, it was first announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation on September 13, 2012, and was released on September 20th, 2014 in Japan and October 24th, 2014 in North America and Europe. Hideki Kamiya, the director of the previous game, stayed on as a supervisor for the project. Yusuke Hashimoto, a producer on the original Bayonetta, took over the role of director.
