[BDO] The Casual/Hardcore Divide - Why High Level Players Are Quitting
A rambling video looking at why high level players quit BDO. Why most changes the forums and reddit cry about don't affect the average player. And why so many streamers and content creators have left recently.
Synopsis:
Casual hardcore divide in Black Desert: Why more high level players/streamers/content creators are quitting.
Higher casual:hardcore ratio than in normal games
Black Desert is essentially a freemium game which means it relies on a small set of players who purchase a majority of microtransactions. Different from WoW/D2 where players have already paid a large amount of money and thus the developers don't care if they remain at level 1 forevermore.
Alienating hardcore players is usually the last stage a game reaches. In BDO it's often the first. Lots of hardcore players have disappeared recently. Lacari is probably the biggest name. But many streamers and other content creators have left the game in the past month. And there have been more blowing up gear/quitting posts on the forums and subreddit recently as well.
Comment below what you think about the recent exodus of endgame players.
