What BeamNG.drive needs:
1. Replay mode (for epic camera angles) - DONE!
2. Realistic glass / window breaking effects
3. Less smoke from tyres
4. Plastic parts that can snap into tiny pieces (i guess it would be heavy on CPU) but i've seen it in other games, this "cluster" parts.
5. Better tyre / rubber effects, currently tyres just disappear when they break.
6. Lighting / Color improvements to make cars look more realistic.
So this video shows you how real a game can be, give it 10 more years and you won't be able to tell the difference. In fact some car manufacturers already have the tech to simulate real life crashes up to 100%, however it still takes them days if not weeks to make one single simulation.
Why? because they need to input the car data very precisely, including each screw, rivet and weld, then their cluster of computers (about 100 CPUs + GPUs) will calculate the simulation in 1-2 days. It's still way cheaper than smashing a real car.
However BeamNG can do this in matter of seconds and it looks quite real :-)
