Sharing some interesting gameplay from the game Beamrider which was developed in 1983 for the Intellivision before being ported to the Atari 2600.

The game was developed by David Rolfe and published by Activision. The concept is that you have to fly a spaceship through 99 sectors in the atmosphere to clear an alien Restrictor Shield which is surrounding earth. Your spaceship the Beamrider is equipped with a short range laser with unlimited rounds and 3 Torpedos which can be used for long range combat. In order to clear a sector you have to eliminate 15 enemy spaceships to progress, along the way you can find 1-UPs but if you shoot the 1-UPs it turns into a debris that can destroy your spaceship as punishment.
