In this video, I'm doing a playthrough of a game that has zombies and various creepy creatures. That game is: Beast Busters for the Arcade. This game was developed and published by SNK, it was releaed in 1989. Beast Busters was also ported to the Commodore Amiga and Atari ST a year later in 1990. There's also a DLC for the Nintendo Switch compilation game titled: SNK 40th Anniversary Collection that adds the arcade versions of Beast Busters and SAR: Search and Rescue to the game titles already present. Windows and PlayStation 4 users had these two games automatically patched into the game as part of an update. Beast Busters is a rail shooter that reminds me of Taito's Operation Wolf, but in a horror themed shooter. In the game, players control one of three militiamen named Johnny Justice, Paul Patriot and Sammy Stately, who must shoot their way out of a city that has been invaded by the undead. The original arcade machine allows for up to three players to play the game at the same time. Guns are mounted to the machine and look like machine guns. Players can earn a number of power-ups through the course of each stage to aid them in battle such as rockets, grenades, armor, health packs, and ammo. The game has seven sections for players to shoot their way through. In between stages players are shown cutscenes explaining the events of the zombie infestation that has overtaken the city. Each stage has a sub boss as well as an end boss to defeat, all of which have 2 forms to defeat. The game was known for having unusual bosses, such as a zombie punk who mutates into a dog, or a jeep which starts coming to life. One stage ends with the militiamen having to rescue a female CIA agent from that stage's boss. The final stage of this game is a boss rush of various bosses that you encountered before and the final boss in this game is a one-eyed brain creature that shoots rocket missiles on you. If you defeat the one-eyed brain creature, the monster goes to the giant machine who has 5 types of weapons, like: a three tentacle weapons (first form), a machine that shoots missiles (second form), a machine gun (third form), a machine that has nine eyes (fourth form) and the final form is a machine that shoots a yellow beam. After you defeat the giant machine, the one-eyed brain creature comes out and he said to the heroes: "Don't think you have won. We will return!" The game ends that the battle is finally over, but the town remains a mystery. The ending that the three heroes sees a giant machine UFO from the sky and then it goes to the staff credits of this game. Overall, Beast Busters is a pretty fun rail shooter game that has a mix of Operation Wolf and Splatterhouse. I hope you enjoy this playthrough of Beast Busters for the Arcade and thanks for watching!
