For those who don't know what this game is, this fun little game is called "Beat Hazard ULTRA", a fun 2D shooter where the objective is simple: shoot enemies and survive the whole song. The best part is YOU CAN USE YOUR OWN SONGS to play this game! The Difficulty pattern can be determined based on the type of music you choose. Because of that, with each song comes a different approach and strategy to complete a run. This means that the more upbeat of a song you choose, the more challenging the game!

The concept is simple: You shoot down enemies, while at the same time don't let them shoot you. You have a certain amount of lives, and once they're gone, it's game over.
Powerups [such as superbombs and Volume+, and power boosters] are very helpful in terms of weaponry and score multiplying. Each time you shoot down enemies, you earn points.

The points get multiplied when you collect 1+ powerups, and also when you don't shoot for a certain amount of time, in which you will enable the Dare Devil Bar below your ship. Each time it fully charges, your multiplier goes up. The same goes for the survivor bar: After you survive for a certain amount of minutes or seconds, the survivor bar fills up and ups your multiplier. These points get added after you die or when you complete a run and those points accumulate to a level-up system.

The level-up system uses fake "military" ranking of which you start from scratch [I think "Private" or some other rank], and then you move up the rank as you earn more points.

There are five difficulties to try:

Easy
Normal
Hardcore
Insane
Suicidal

The "Insane" and "Suicidal" levels will not be available at first, and it can only be unlocked through simply playing through the game as much as you can and building up points, earning in-game fake money, and leveling up. It will be available after you buy it in-game as a perk.

The game modes are straight-forward. There's the default mode in which you just play a level of just one song, and then there's Survivor mode in which you can play through an entire album. Basically, the longer the songs, the more songs you have, or the longer the album, the longer you have to fight to survive, but the scores [as well as the reputation] is very rewarding. There's also additional game modes such as Boss Rush, and you can also play online against other players or also as co-op.

You can compare your high scores against other people and friends online, and throughout the game there is a live "RSS-Style" feed at the bottom keeping you [and any of your friends playing the same game] informed of what song are you or your friends are playing, under what difficulty, and whether they completed their run or whether they "crashed and burned".

This game is available for XBox LIVE as well as for PC on STEAM for only $10 bucks! For such a simply addictive game, it's worth every penny!
