My glitch-less playthrough of Ghostbusters for NES. This is one of the few games I had as a kid which I couldn't beat. Those stairs were just killer, and on the extremely rare chance that I made it to the top I'd then bite it in the fight against Gozer due to all those projectiles flying around the screen. I feel like my playing has improved since then so I gave this another go and was able to beat it in less than two days of trying.
There is a glitch in the game that can give you enough lives to make it through the stairs section with ease but I've never attempted it. One of the key factors in passing the stairs legitimately was purchasing the sound generator, an extremely expensive piece of hardware that slows the ghosts. When fighting Gozer, I found that by standing just slightly to the left of center I could hit her almost every time and use the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man screen to clear out all the projectiles.
This isn't a guide, walkthrough, or tutorial, it's just me playing through the game as best I can. What do you think of the game? Do you have any play tips, childhood memories, or interesting stories to share?
