Beating the Reborn League in Pokémon Reborn (Mono Electric vs. PULSE-2 Reborn)
Welp, that's it.
About two days of planning movesets, trying battles, adjusting, and strategizing, and it's finally been done.
To those uninformed, this run has been done with the PULSE-2 password enabled, as well as me having no EVs or IVs to speak of. This means that I am at a statistical disadvantage at every corner, and the game becomes absolutely ruthless.
The challenge is that I have to go into the league with certain moves already locked, due to not being able to change them in there. This makes maneuvering everything very difficult, and I have to win at the very end as well.
This run is a feat I'm proud of. It's an accomplishment, considering how much of a slog it is to do any and all battles. It's brutally strong and powerful at every corner, and you always have to battle plan for what's up ahead.
I'll be continuing into postgame now, but I already know that I will not be winning it. This is by far the hardest thing I've ever done, and even I had to make some compromises.
I usually like to play without changing the terrain, but Bennett and Laura just weren't possible without doing so. You can clearly see the whimsicott living a sun-boosted overheat from modest rotom heat, and that alone should be enough of a statement on how brutal that battle was. Removing their weaknesses as grass types only make it worse.
I practically brought four of the best electric types there are, in Magnezone, Togedemaru, Golem-Alola, Rotom-Heat. and the rest had to be playmakers. Certain mons were forced due to me having no answers otherwise, like with Anna's Mega Metagross that's a nuke with arms. The game is a constant fight of rocket tag, except I'm using a bullet bill while they're using actual rockets, and I have to fight for the advantage with clever positioning, strategy, and item usage. Custap berries are some of the dumbest items on the planet.
I don't regret doing this run, but I won't do another one like it. Ah, but I forgot to mention - I accidentally did Anna route instead of Lin route, so I had to lose to the Arceus Battle, since I just couldn't beat that. The two battles aren't too different, but I figured I might as well include it.
Oh also, the music used is from Project Moon's game, Library of Ruina. I recommend it if you're up for tactical deck-building games, with a focus on story and world building! The music is amazing too!
