Honestly, the opening video for this game is actually very sweet. It almost mimics the art style of Coraline or some of the Tim Burton titles like James and the Giant Peach. There's an innocence about it, but also a very dark and sinister vibe. I'm wondering if this fairy tale is going to come to life at any point - as much as this is just a "local tale", I doubt this is brought into the storyline for no real purpose. After all, most good game and video plots, especially with this much detail put into them, have to prove useful to the story somehow.
However, this is quite a strong opening to the game. Storytime interrupted by the one person who saved us at the end of the previous one. Talk about a slap in the face.
