Full length video showing some rather disturbing images of Anthony Gonzalez. Besides the fact that offensive lineman runs the wrong way instantly and a DB gets very confused in coverage. The larger issue here is breaking down what happens when "animation drives the AI" in a sports game. While I am sure all games do this, at some point you must have a "common scene" over-ride...where the player can make the play regardless of the animation the game called for.

You can only control one of 22 players on the field at a time, this means the animations are dictating a large part of the game. Essentially, while you as a player have a large impact on the overall game, animations can dictate the final outcome. Until this gets fixed Madden cant even be looked at as a sim, "stick skills" or practical football knowledge are useless in the game. Your merely at the mercy of the ratings and animations. Often one game changing play is all it takes to give you a loss, and a ton of frustration at 40 minutes of wasted gaming for the game to cheat you.
