Behind the Scenes: MISFIT the Movie
House5 Production a proudly Nigerian media production company founded in 2009 with aspirations to become relevant in the worlds of Film, Television and Media Consulting. It focuses on producing high quality short films, theatrical feature films, documentaries and television programming that are educative and social conscious.
After 2 year in-depth research on cases of abduction and victims of captivity, 90% of the movie was shot in a cell room and the actors had to undergo extreme physical and mental preparation. The film was produced in a cinematographic style where stable-image techniques are purposely dispensed with. This technique was applied to give a pseudo-documentary 'cinema vérité' appearance to the film.
The film is directed and co-written by Daniel Emeke Oriahi, a Nigerian filmmaker, whose work has gained considerable recognition and awards in Nigeria and abroad. The lead role is played by Ijeoma Grace Agu, a recipient of the 30-Nigeria-House Award and Nollywood Movie awards nominee (NMA2013) for fast rising female star.
