Whether it’s Ahmed Best doing his best with Jar Jar Binks or Benedict Cumberbatch crawling around like a lunatic for his role as Smaug in The Hobbit trilogy, we really can’t say enough about the many great CGI characters that fill our little nerdy souls. What we see on screen, of course, is a lot different from how things start out! CGI raccoons require actual raccoons, raccoon dolls, and even dudes acting like raccoons. Awesome octopus men require inspiration from styrofoam cups. Horrifying vampire babies start out as somehow more horrifying puppets. The life of a VFX artist is truly a strange mix of adorable and scary! In this video we talk about the Mummy, Gollum, Voldemort, and even one or two Avengers just to round things out.
