444Let’s dive deep into the wizarding world of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets! Carried by the incredible performances of the young actors, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, this series will always hold a special place in our hearts. Did you know that a significant portion of the film was shot in places with hundreds and hundreds of years of history? The Alnwick Castle, for example, which was used for a ton of Hogwarts exterior shots had been in the Percy family for 950 years! It’s currently used as a home for the Dutch and Dutchess and their four children. There were also tons of set pieces made on the back lots of Leavesden Studios, which is one of the world’s most sophisticated film studios ever. We also can’t forget about the legendary King’s Cross Station which houses the iconic 9 ¾ platform! Did you know that JK Rowling’s parents met at King’s Cross Station? That’s one of the reasons why she wanted to use it for the film – the places holds a lot of personal magic for her. The outside shots of the station though, surprisingly, weren’t at King’s Cross at all, but at St. Pancras. You can catch a shot of the station when Harry and Ron take off in the Weasley’s flying Ford to try and catch up with the Hogwarts Express train they missed.
