Best RTA Joker glitch (human theory).
I used turbo (for punch consistency) in FCEUX and showed his health to show you how tight it is, but the punching speed in the video is entirely human RTA and not faster than possible or anything.
So a long time ago BadBrakes said that if you throw a dirk at the beginning of the Joker fight, it glitches the first summoned lightning and that's actually wrong. I sometimes do throw a dirk for an extra 3 damage, but the lightning hitbox remains active. There IS a glitch where the first lightning strike won't hit you, but you can walk up to it, not attacking at all and just stand there, shoot the pistol, throw a batarang or throw a dirk. The dirk does nothing to cause the lightning glitch. I think what actually causes the glitch is maybe Joker not immediately shooting his gun at the beginning of the battle. Seems to have something to do with that.
Anyway, Zimond posted ages ago that you could maybe kill the Joker because there's a rare pattern he has where he pulls out his gun, then puts it away without shooting, so in theory you could use that extra time to remove a lightning cycle. I did make a save state and did practice that on Everdrive, but it was impossible, there just wasn't enough time as between the last lightning cycle, I checked in TAS and Joker always has about 40~50+ health left. So you've always been forced to wait that little bit of extra time to glitch him by waiting for one extra lighting cycle.
This is barely human RTA, but in theory, if you carried a perfect punch rhythm (I set turbo on FCEUX to keep rhythm consistent), abuse the fact the lighting has no hitbox, throw a dirk for an extra 3 damage at the beginning before you're in range and can hit him, and omit one jump (punching into glitching the Joker) and omit another jump so you don't have to jump and follow to keep punching Joker, you have literal frames to setup the best glitch while removing one lightning cycle by doing that extra 40-50 damage that was thought impossible to do before.
If you could make this RTA the save would be about 2.5s over the current best Joker glitch.
