Best settings for Red Dead Redemption 2 PC low-power graphics cards 1080p (GTX 1050Ti benchmark)
UPDATE: So I’ve had a week to tinker with the settings a lot more, plus Microsoft & R* released two updates. Managed to increase the eye candy a bit, and the game now runs silky smooth. | HERE'S THE NEW VIDEO: https://youtu.be/e65623Ikpl8

Hoo boy, Red Dead Redemption is demanding! Despite Rockstar’s assurance that the game has been widely optimised to work on all sorts of PCs, that didn’t actually turn out. In fact, there’s more than just demanding specs — like requiring nothing less than a RTX 2080 Ti for 4K 60 fps, c’mon — that have plagued the launch. And yet, RDR2 is a masterpiece of a game so it is worth the trouble. Even if you have a wheezing old graphics card like my Zotac GTX 1050 Ti Mini.
Thankfully, RDR2 comes with a buttload of customization options, and so I spent a ridiculous amount of time tweaking them all to find the best possible compromise between visual fidelity and performance. Since it isn’t a fast paced game, anything above 30-35fps at 1080p resolution worked fine for me. After all, the atmosphere of the wild wild west is its main draw.
Here’s what I found; hope it helps you.
