Unfortunately, I have to recommend that you do not purchase these headphones. Out of the box, they have fantastic bass, fantastic overall audio quality, and they SEEM sturdy and well built. I did days of research on what pair to buy, and on paper, they look like the best value closed back headphones you can get (which is why this isn't a one star review).
However, my first pair started experiencing a buzzing in the left cup after around a month, which occurred with even minimal bass. I got a replacement pair relatively easily through Amazon, however three months later my replacement pair now has the same issue in the right cup. I could handle the first failure, and write it off as a one-off - however with two experiencing the same issue, its clear that the build quality for these just isn't up to par. If my $60 Bose over-ears can last 8 years of use without a single fault, these expensive German studio headphones have no excuse. I'll be avoiding Beyerdynamic in the future.

Had really high expectations and at first they worked great. Received package January 24th 2018, current date April 16th 2018. NOTHING BUT FUZZ is coming out of one side. One day it was popping and bam. So yeah 170 dollars for 4 months. My cheap skull candy's lasted years through some tough situation's and really sounded great for the price. The price of these things plus the name...and this is the quality? These weren't even used daily. Only for drumming casually. Really just disappointed. NEVER AGAIN.

I believe in Beyerdynamic and made in Germany quality, but time proves I am wrong.
I bought it in December 2015. With super light use and low frequent use, in this Christmas time when I put it on for some Christmas songs, right cup develops very irritating hiss sound with an obvious distortion overall in high volume.
I have downgraded it to 2 stars but not 1 star, because I still love Beyerdynamic and made in Germany.

I bought it because it is made in Germany. After putting it on listening to music, I am glad I have made a correct decision. Although it is big in size, it lives up with its big name.

the cups however.. are smaller than most headphones, my ears- which aren't that large, can feel the inside of the cups brush against the tops of my ears and lobes, theyre not as deep as I'd have liked.
that said I'm still using them daily, great sound quality and you're getting what you pay for as far as quality headphones go.

So, was excited getting these at first, but after using them for a couple of days, there was problems with the sound on the left ear, which somehow fixed itself after a bit. However, more concerning is the fact that they're not durable at all. I was extremely gentle and caring with them, but it didn't stop a small piece of plastic breaking off, and the overall design felt loose and fragile.
