Beyond The Scanlines #016: Wizball (Commodore 64, Commodore Amiga, Sinclair ZX Spectrum)
Sensible Software were quite the legendary developer during the days of 8 & 16-bit home computing, and the game which truly put them on the map was 1987's Wizball, published by Ocean Software.
In this episode, I take a look at the original Commodore 64 release, and examine two of its many ports - the Commodore Amiga release, alongside the Sinclair ZX Spectrum one.
Quotes shown are taken from Read Only Memory's "Sensible Software 1986-1999" (which is a great read, though sadly out of print).
All three versions recorded from real hardware, fed into an XRGB Mini:
● Commodore 64 from a C64 Reloaded Mk 2 board using S-Video
● Commodore Amiga using an Amiga 500 using RGB
● ZX Spectrum with a ZX Spectrum+ 128k using RGB
Watch this at 1080p50 for the absolute best quality if you can!
