It was the dead of winter during the height of World War II, a Soviet truck was making its way back to base through the snow-covered landscape. The sound of the truck's engine echoed through the crisp, frozen air as it trundled along the deserted road.
Suddenly, I caught a glimpse of a menacing shadow in the sky, and looked up to see a German Messerschmitt Bf109G fighter plane swooping down towards me. As the plane unleashed a hail of bullets, the sound of gunfire echoed through the freezing silence, and the truck shook violently as few bullets impacted its metal frame while the rest just grazed the sides, seemingly like the plane's
intent was to scare and miss the truck.
Desperately, the i tried to maneuver the truck to evade the attacks, but the fighter plane was too skilled and too fast. I had the truck at full throttle, until finally i ended up losing him down a
road surrounded by forest.
After what seemed like hours i had arrived at our front line base, only to gasp and hear
the engine of the BF109G in the distance approaching our base.
