The bipod is without a doubt the most powerful attachment in Battlefield 3. There are no drawbacks to using the bipod. Well, you do have to take the time to deploy the legs for it work, but other than that there are no downsides. When deployed it makes your gun have less horizontal and vertical kick. It also increase your ADS and hip fire accuracy. Recoil spread and recovery time are improved as well.
