I still like BF4, but due to the part time crap port on Steam, it wasn't nearly enjoyable as back in the day. So many bugs and clitches can punish your experience. As mentioned before, when it runs fine, it's still one of the best multiplayer experiences you can have. Played the camapign also on the Steamdeck and it ran fine so far.

This helped me with my discribed PunkBuster kick problem. Unzip the file, open the program and add BF4 as a game to the path. Safe and good to go. The setup program doesn't have to get put in the BF folder, so you can put it werever you want.
2.) I had also had some serious trouble in the campaign, where you have to dive in the ship to the next section. Could hardly get forward and swimming was almost impossible. A real pain. I read about some solutions with the FPS and other theses. But in the end I've just waited a while until the reading was over and then I just began to swam and without changing anything it just worked (weird). It worked fine until the end.
3.) When I had the sound bugs (no audio) I needed to close even Steam and restart. Only restarting the game didn't do the trick sometimes.

Self explained that this state of a game is unacceptable and even the 1.99 Euro is too much for it when it don't run properly. But I also had hours of perfect running mp rounds and a lot of fun. So this is really a double-edged sword. I hope you will have an better experience with your BF4 on Steam.
